Navah is heading to the National Youth Championships

We are thrilled to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Navah Crofton for earning her place in the esteemed 2023 Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) U16 Girls National Youth Championship squad. Navah's journey with us at Northern Rivers Football Academy has been one of determination and growth, and her achievement is truly commendable.

The National Youth Championships (NYC) are Football Australia’s primary national football tournament for U14 and U16 girls and U15 and U16 boys. The competition will see teams from each of Football Australia’s state member federations compete in Wollongong, over five days during October.

Navah's story began when she joined our Development Squads from Maclean FC as a curious ten-year-old. Since then, she has continued to evolve, showcasing her dedication and passion for the sport. Her progression to the female ranks and her subsequent role in the boy's squads exemplify her commitment to improvement.

Her journey has been marked by significant moments, including being recognised as the first female recipient of our Academy Player of the Year award in 2020. Navah's transition to the role of a commanding captain in the boy's squads reflects her leadership abilities and on-field prowess.

Navah's commitment extends beyond the field. She has embraced extra training, tactical online sessions (Underground Coaching), and one-on-one coaching to refine her skills. Her resilience in the face of challenges and her steadfast approach have truly set her apart.

As Navah takes her place in the squad, alongside fifteen Newcastle Jets players, we are reminded of the hard work and effort that has brought her here. Navah’s NRFA family and community congratulate her on this remarkable achievement and wish her success at the 2023 NYC. Her journey embodies the essence of the Academy’s commitment to developing and nurturing young talent in a regional area.
